m807ppp
I've removed my hold spring and removed the clamp fom it that bolts to diff, on the new spring it doesn't have the plate inserted in spring and I can't see how you would put it in there, also am I right in thinking that you remove the clamp that's in the middle of the new spring to fit the clamp that goes to diff minus the bottom plate

WIMPUS
You mean the place between the bottom leave and the rest ? You will need to take that out of your old spring and insert that between the leaves of the new spring + also the spacer tube where the bolts goes through that holds the top bit on.Hope this makes sense :oPs that small clamp on your new leaf spring will need to be removed . Richard B
That small clamp is just there for keeping it together before the cage is fitted. The cage has a pivot bearing inside that allows the car to roll when compared to the rear axle. This gives you the better handling of the "Swing-Spring" when compared to the rigid sprig of the earlier Spitfires and is also why you need a larger anti-roll bar.
