qunvat
Hi all,So .. the MG converted hubs have arrived and now its time to decide which tyres to put on the wires sitting (sleeping) in the garage!I've posted this below on an MG forum .. any advice would be greatly received from you lot though!Cheers, SiHi all,I've a 1968 GT6 Mk1 and have just had some MG hubs converted for it.I've bought some standard (14 x 4.5 ?) chrome wires and now need some (more!) advice on which tyres / inner tubes to go for!I need to be careful as the wheel arch is smaller then the MG's and at the moment the current tyres on the steel wheels are 165 / 70 / 13's...I'm strongly suspecting the biggest / best I'll be able to get on are 175 / 60 / 14 ...Any advice on which inner tubes to get would be great also has anyone any experience of a GOOD tyre fitter in S. Wales? ... I've a great one here in Cardiff but wires is not his speciality!I'll buy the tyres online probably...Also the spare needs a good clean + a new rubber seal (can I use duck / gaffer tape instead?)Many thanks, Si
Clive
I think you are right, 175 is probably the widest tyre you will get on there, and the 60 profile will be a tad smaller than the original 155/13 tyres but similar to your existing ones.
