sam93
Hi all, Just finished refurb of my dolly sprint wheels (very nice n shiny they are too) I know i need longer studs n spacers but what tyre size can i get away with, they are 5.5jwant a faily wide, low profile look without going daft......was thinking 185 x 60 x 13. GarthT
185/60/13 go fine on a 5.5 rim, I have them on mine, although I'm gonna change to 175/70/13 soonish, as 185s seem to be a bit scarcer and more pricey now that the boy racers don't have XR2s any more.... ;)
Clive
Yep, good choice. 175/70 13 also ideal, but not quite as aggressive looking. With the 60 profile tyre you will need to be careful with the rear spring and camber change, the 70's are much better suited really. And remember you need the correct type of wheelnut. If possible I would use the larger 7/16 studs and sprint nuts, or 12mm metric, but not sure which nuts would work. I suspect some would be available though. Deleted User
Rimmjobs list the 7/16" Sprint studs as NLA now, not surprising at £10 EACH +VAT!Was I chuffed when I pick up two dozen NOS ones at Stoneleigh for a tenner? 8)185/60x13's dropping into obscurity, but 175x70x13's will remain a popular size as it's used by a lot of superminis.
