Marshman 1360 Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 Anyone know what size the nut is at the front of the engine. Just started work on a 13/60 conv, and the belt is slipping when we turn the fan want to try and turn the engine by hand and this nut is the easiest
ferny Posted October 25, 2009 Posted October 25, 2009 What are the first two letters on the engine number?
willcolumbine Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 I don't know about the 13/60 specifically but the nut on the front of a Spitfire 1500 is 1" and 13/16ths! It's such a big socket that I have to keep it sideways in my tool cabinet so I can close the lid! :)
Paudman Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 Herald isn't that big, I use a 38mm socket which fits both my early 1200 and late 13/60.
Deleted User Posted October 28, 2009 Posted October 28, 2009 It depends on the engine fitted.If it's a small journal crank, then it's a 1,7/16" nutIf it's a large journal crank, then it's a 1,13/16" nut
