Alex Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Ok I've fitted a new cam and a different head, the heads been torqued down and I've just put the rockers on.Is there a base setting for the adjustments so I dont spend an age trying to get the gap right?Obviously the adjustments are completely out of whack, I just thought maybe its screws all up or half way or something?ThanksAlex
Nick Jones Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Just set in the usual way but may need a bit more twiddling than usual - shouldn't be a big deal. Note that if non-Triumph cam the specified clearances may be different from the Triumph book figures - check the data sheet that came with the cam (probably)....CheersNick
Alex Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 Thanks Nick, Mk3 cam as discussed ;-)I just hoped there may be a quick way:-))Alex
James Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 Get on with it Alex :)At least you don't have 12 to do! :)

rotoflex Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 You take your radio, you sit down on the tire, & you put your Cold Drink on top of the battery. It's wonderful.

Tim Bancroft Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Its a Triumph man's priviledge to adjust his valve clearances!
don cook1 Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Its a very quick job...unless, of course, you have worn rockers!
Alex Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 All done.....then I remembered I'd not torqued down the pedestals.I'll do em again then ;D
piman Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 Hello Richard, have you noticed that where they drink very cold beer, t is virtually tasteless, no flavour whatsoever. Warm is a relative term anyway, live beer should be served at about 13 degrees centigrade, hardly warm?Alec
