Exhaust gasket sealant

Hello,

My exhaust gasket recently failed on my Vitesse 1600, I ordered a new one from a place beginning with C and a week later it is still not here and they are rather indifferent about that. As I hope to be going on holiday in a few days and given my gasket may or may not turn up I was wondering if there is anything in a tube that could be used instead?

Assuming you mean the gasket between the manifold and exhaust downpipe, I wouldn't be happy using anything in a tube to seal the joint. That gasket is part nuber GEG701, common to plenty of other Triumphs - 13/60, Spitfire Mk3 & IV, Dolomite 1300 etc. If one of the suppliers is out of stock then shop around....
