jmurph Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Hiiv got a 1974 triumph toledo 1300rwdi was just about to order some engine parts but wasnt sure if the dollys 1300 is identical. Im doing the head gasket and some other things and wasnt sure if the dolly's 1300 is the same?Specifically toledo was non existant in Rimmer bros. Thanks
partsaver Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 there are two types of headgasket, recessed and nonrecessed, the engines are the same as dolly and spitfie , i would try someone like canley classics or mick dolphins rather than rimmers. both mick dolphin and canleys have been working on these engines since they were born.
Clive Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 The recessed headgasket "should"have a tag sticking out at the back. About 10mm out from the block and 50mm long?? Alternatively the engine number would be handy when phoning the supplier.Clive
monty69 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Some Toledo motors have bigger valves than the Doggy-mites
