volospian Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 I've been toying with the idea of an engine swap for a while, but before I take the plunge, I would like to know the actual limits of the Stag unit.Anybody know, apart from the racing Stag of Hart (I want a reliable power output rather than race spec), what sort of power the Stag unit can cope with? What about EFI and forced induction? My other options are mainly something like a 4.6 RV8, or maybe the Jag AJV8 unit, but that would involve a lot of work to get a manual gearbox, althoughI suppose I could convert to an autobox, as it would be more in style with the GT type cruiser that I'd like.I don't want high revving track day stuff, but would like midrange grunt and long distance cruising, which kind of suggests a tuned Stag unit wouldn't really make the perfect base. However, the cost of a new engine would have to be paid either way, so, with a decent investment, could the Stag unit could provide me with a reliable 250+hp
