Engine Valances - Drawing / Dimensions

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone out there has made their own engine valances (that fit GT6 MK1) and has a drawing or dimensions they wouldn't mind sharing. I was going to buy some and copy from that but seems a waste of good money. I tried to work it out from the car but was too much like hard work in cold weather.

Any help would be much appreciated

Andy

Hi,

I've got the same question but for the radiator valances. Even if someone just has a decent picture of where they go, what they mount to etc I could start from there

Thanks

The factory radiator shroud is shown at #10 on this page:

It was made of the same black cardboard material as the engine side valances.

I believe I last saw my radiator shroud around 1978.  You can live without it, if the rest of the cooling system is performing well.  The top part contacted the bonnet if I recall correctly. which is why soft-ish cardboard was used.  After a couple of overheats & coolant spews when removing a hot radiator cap, the cardboard of course disintegrates.

A fan shroud is likely much more effective than the rad shroud (see Andre's nicely-done fan shroud).

I've had the engine side valances on & off through the years, mostly off.  I'm thinking of getting a fan shroud up, & a side-valance attached to the right of the radiator to put a couple of holes in & re-install the cold air tubes for the carbs.
