Bodywork (welding) needed - near the Coventry area

This weekend I went out for a ride in Chris's Spitfire
I reckon it's got to be the most fun car I've ever been in

This has given me the motivation needed to get my arse into gear and get my car sorted

Whilst I've got all the welding gear and panels required, and can weld to a reasonable standard, I just don't have the time to do the work

So, I think it's time for me to bite the bullet and hand the car over to somebody that can do the work for me

My car is in the Coventry area, but I don't mind a little bit of a journey if it's to the right garage

Can anybody recommend a garage around the Coventry area that could do some body repairs (panel replacement) for me........Or does anybody here want some work in exchange for some monies?

One thing I must say is important to me is I need somebody that won't let me down

The last place I took my car to had it for over two years and still didn't finish the job, which led to a complete lack of motivation on my part

So, who's gonna do a good job and look after me?

Thanks everyone

  • 3 weeks later...

I know of a small company in Pershore who got a workmates MGB back on the road, labour rate seemed very reasonable and they like a quick turnaround.  I was thinking about using them but not enough budget yet so its diy for me again.

I have their details at work, could post them if your interested.

Hi Ant, Curious what the problem with KD is as I had a mate who had some work done on his Spitfire and it was a nice job. However, I also know someone who had their Jag done by Jules Bodywork Wolverhampton. Very very pukka job but as you would expect quality costs. I know they've worked on various Triumphs over the years. Cheers Rob

Hi Anthony,

The company in Pershore Worcs is R.M. Motors, tel 01386 553004 ask for Mick.

As I said he did a colleagues MGB GT, wings, sills, wheel arch repairs and a full respay, my colleague supplied the panels.

Can't remember the labour cost but it did seem very good, took them about 2 weeks to do as I recall.
