daver clasper
Hi. Finally saved a bit of cash to buy the correct ones that Bill Davis (Rarebits) was supplying. Rarebits website doesn't appear to exist anymore and no response from a previous email address and his private message name on here isn't available to PM him. Does anyone know if he is still doing any trading, or a way of contacting him please. Failing that, Baines seals have some seals on the the Triumph section of their website, that look a similar profile to Bills, though described as "draught excluders" and they have no knowledge of selling them as door seals for Vit/Herald. Wondered if anyone has used them for these, or any knowledge of other suppliers. Any help great, thanks
marktheherald
I've just bought some from Baines (DX73). Not fitted yet, but offering up a short length seems to be a vast improvement over the closed cell type.

JumpingFrog
Bill/Rarebits has a page on Facebook, I've contacted him a couple of times recently. He still has some stuff, but I'm not sure if he's actively trading.Don't do what we did and buy cheap seals from eBay. These were just a generic 90 degree seal with a bubble/closed cross section. They were way too thick and the doors wouldn't close on them at all. Bad experience returning them too as they'd be cut by this point. In the end we got some from Fitchetts, which fitted perfectly. More expensive, but well worth it after the hassle of the others. These are a 90 degree bubble section too, but of the correct thickness.Admittedly, I'm not sure what the correct/original profile is e.g. whether it's a bubble or the "draught-excluder shape". Dave1360
I fitted the Baines DX73 ones a couple of weeks ago. They work a treat, although the passenger footwell is filling up from somewhere else now. The price of them virtually doubled when they added P&P on though. marktheherald
I don't mind paying the postage if the seals work. Baines's web page does show the postage costs, so forewarned..

daver clasper
Hi. Have fitted new seals and the doors were still a bit proud at bottom rear (a bit of tub spread probably). I Moved the striker plates in and looks a lot better, though the doors are needing a good hefty shove to close them. I think I read about bending the lip that the seal pushes onto, inwards a bit to help with this. Has anyone tried this, or any other tips please?. Cheers, Dave
Pete Lewis
dave you can simply hammer the flange to get an even gap all round the aperture but if its crushing the seal/tight at the B post waist and the door sticks out at the bottom then youre sure to have some tub spread its pretty common Pete
