Alex
I've removed my door cappings and the old varnish as it was all cracking off.Seemed a shame to do all the work I've done and not do these(oh and my neighbour actually removed the varnish ;D)One door capping had very little veneer left and another was a little damaged. My neighbours brother is going to bring us some new veneer for them, but does anyone know what they should be?Also does anyone know how to remove the dash wood?ThanksAlex
cowman
Alex, To remove dash wood from MK1, remove glovebox insert (4-5 screws around outside including top latch) and then access can be gained to back of wood trim. Push the clock out and disconnect first and remove the ashtray. Each trim piece has 2 threads with nuts on behind. The chrome trim at base of wood comes away with it and simply slides away once removed.Glen.
