anthropoidape
What speakers fit where there is currently a pouch? I'll use speakers but I won't use the pouches ;)Jason
Andyr
Not sure - the straight answer is to measure the depth available behind - i know people have gone this route and then later regreted it after really messing up the door trim. Most people usually make use of the rear cubby hole - you can get speaker blanking plates to mount your speakers in from SOC/Bosscreen etc. which do a good job - i have 4" speaker fitted in mine but you may be able to go to 5".If you need to extra sound for the front you can mount a couple of 3.5" speakers in the factory speaker space in the middle of the dash - just use some creative mountings - it will all be hidden by the black speak grill.cheers....Andy
Richard B
See if you can get a S/H pair of door trims already cut for speakers. Un-molested door trims are worth a bit.
anthropoidape
Thanks guys.My existing door trims are water damaged so they need to be repaired anyway. So I should have the freedom to tinker with them a bit. It is more cutting holes in the doors themselves that concerns me.
BarryH
My Stag had speakers fitted in the middle of the door by a previuos owner as there is hole there in the door metal already. The only problem is that the window winder bar goes up and down at that spot as well and catches the back of the speaker which is the average 43mm deep. If I could find speakers 10 - 15 mm slimmer or some way of keeping them away from the winder bar this would be a great solution. I think you will find that it is solid metal behind the pockets and you will need to cut a hole to mount speakers.
