Rusty99
Does anyone have a suggestion for the best adhesive to use to glue the door capping on?
sparky_spit
I did mine, and the windscreen frame surrounds, with good old Evostick contact adhesive. I used the tin with a wide neck so I could use an old half-inch brush as an applicator. Don't breathe in the fumes unless you're 13 and wear a hoody. smallg
The guy who supplied my capping suggested using two-part araldite as it is better at coping with heat from sitting in the sun. While my car hardly ever does I still used it. I was a bit worried it would be a lot harder and less forgiving to use. But it was quite easy and turned out very well. Unless your car sits outside a lot in summer I reckon contact adhesive would be fine. The old capping on mine was put on with contact adhesive and despite being many years old had not lifted. But as Alligator recommends it is vital to clean up the door frame first. Like most things good preparation is half the battle. Good luck....">
