Techstar
Hi, setting up my jobs for the next holiday and another thing that needs sorting on the green beast is the driver's door glass. This seems to be out of alignment with the rubbers on the A pillar. It sticks out from the body by about 10mm at the top and seems to be a bit too far forward. Have had the door cards off and everything seems tight and solid inside. Any suggestions would be useful. It means that the hard top I got with it wont fit too well and the soft top doesn't seal so in the wet weather we have had I have had a wet backside on the journey home from work.TaPete

MarkB
Windows tend to wind up to high when out of adjustment/worn and when the door is shut hits on the hood frame / windscreen, eventually bending the window channels and guides, causing the window to run out of true, become loose and leaning out at the top. It can be sorted but can be a time consuming fiddly job. first you need to check the condition of all the guides and window channels because they can corrode badly making it all to weak. Then its a matter of loosening everything off and re-adjusting everything. If that doesn't work you need to either repair or replace window channels / guides that appear bent, twisted, or corroded. GT6 M
You can adjust the glass, its done bb bolts/nuts on the door itself, can go forad and aft, inand oot.for some ..fine adjust ment .. you can always tweek the edges of the door apeture, the bit where the rubbers go on to, as even with the glass adjusted ok,or to its best ,done by the door adjusters, it may still no be reet.tip, when adjusting take of the rubber around the top, then you can see exactly where it needs tweekin.ohhhh, and if the glass is a slack fit in the actuall end channels, cos the stuff in there has worn away, then ye can nip it up abit, to mek it a better fit, best done off the car, only two bolts odding it on,good luck, marcus
