GrayFox
I bought a pair of door courtesy light switches from Paddocks to replace the knackered ones on the 13/60 convertible. They seem to be larger than the original switches and do not fit the door pillar. It looks as if they only supply this one. Has anyone else replaced theirs and if so where did they source ones that fit?
GarthT
I had one missing so I bought the same one, it was possibly from Canleys. It was a bugger to fit and I now have a puncture hole into the side of the door because the neck bit was too long when the door closed on it...... :-/

Seems silly to sell things which don't fit.. We've got a torch for the meantime !!
heraldcoupe
The long ones are the closest which are readily available, not a practical replacement as far as I'm concerned though. The original type occasionally turn up as NOS, but pretty sporadic and some time since I've seen any.Cheers,Bill.
GrayFox
Thanks Bill. If you do see any NOS ones please let us know. Does the Spitfire use the same ones, or any other make or model of car?
garyf
They do turn up at Autojumbles, thats where I got some original ones from.I reckon those might be Dolomite/2000 door switchs?
Steve Cureton
I bought some generic ones from a stall at a show. They were a little oversize but I just enlarged the holes slightly and they work a treat.

GarthT
it's in the middle of the dashboard under the top lip, there should be a hole with a bulb and a bit of metal sticking out which is the flick switch.right pain in the arse to change the bulb in mine. Zendervision
I had to take the bulb out of mine when it started coming on with the driver's door closed, and extinguishing when the door was opened. The result of a rusty switch loose in its hole, but still WTF ;D
boxcorsair
Gray.. is that your knackered switch on the left. If so I have 2 of them. Got them for a GT6 but they are too narrow for the hole on the A-pillar. Fancy a swap? They are used but in great condition. Wil grab a picture tomorrow if you're interested. Not sure if the one you have there would work for me but worth a punt!!!Cheers

Matt306
I am in need of one switch... anyone help me out?
Dogsbody47uk
Vehicle Wiring Products do 2 types of door switches. I used the plastic ones where you cut the rod to the desired length. They work a treat on my 13/60. They are not a push fit. you connect them then drill a hole for a self tapper. Not a problem. Cheers, Dave. Stu 1986
If you're not too fussed about originality then you could do what I did & use ones from any Ford made from about 1980-2008. I got a pair off a Ford Ka & they work perfectly.
oldmetalhead82
Sorry about nicking the thread but should the courtesy light on the dash have a cover ?
Dogsbody47uk
Reply to "oldmetalhead"... NO, the dash light does not have a cover, it's simply a festoon bulb fitted between 2 contacts. Cheers, Dave.
