Door Interchangeability

Can anyone please advise me if Spitfire MK4 doors will fit a MK1 GT6

easy answer no. Same size/shape of skin and frame, different holes/mounts for door handles inside and out incl catches and mechanisms

I would go more for a tentative yes, but not really what you want and too much work to sort.

They will fit in the hole.

You could then use the existing Mk1 1/4 lights to make them look like Mk3 GT6 doors as I think the glass and windery bits are common.

Hugh are you on about spitfire 4 or spitfire mk4 (as in the same as 1500)

As said above, the mk4 has different holes for handle and locks
A spitfire 4, I would say would fit, (also mk 2/3)  the difference being the quarter light, but you can change that over!
Decent earlier ones are getting harder to get.

How bad are your doors? Can't you re skin?

Thanks all for the replies they are Spitfire 4 MK 1 doors  :-/ My door skins are good as are the frames but one door skin drivers side has a dent in it at the crease and the frame is spilt width ways right across it too. Left hand door skin is good but door frame again has a spilt right across the width too

I will take photos tomorrow I can get down and lie on the garage floor to take pictures I just can't get back uo on my own  :-/ ( long boring story behind it) and I do not want to end up stuck lying there all day and night  ;D ;D ;D ;D Kneeling down mo problem so I will see what I can do.
