Rear light night dimming

Not sure I like the idea of brake lights and indicators coming on at reduced intensity when the side lights are on.

How do I stop this happening and still retain normal light intensity no matter if the lights are on or off?

The night dimmer relay is activated by a trigger wire on the relay from the sidelight circuit. Can't remember offhand what colour, but if you disconnect that then it won't 'dim' the rest.
The correct fix is to bypass the relay completely by joining all the 'in & out' wires together, i.e. the brake light in to the brake light out etc.
Only problem with that is you're working in a restricted space (sometimes smothered in waxoyl or underseal) and it's easier just to disconnect and tape up 1 wire.
If there is any corrosion on the relay terminals however you should take it out and bin it anyway, then you will have to join the wires together, but that's better really.
I have this vague feeling that it might be possible just to disconnect the earth from the relay and achieve the same result too.......not absolutely sure about that, might be worth trying tho'.

Thanks

I've seen the damn b*****d thing, it looks pretty clean and nicely tucked away behind the boot left side trim panel. I'll probably go down the removal of the trigger wire route, at least it could be re-connected if I ever get converted to it's usefulness.
