Speedtwin500 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Here's another one to bother people with from a newcomer to Triumph world. When under load such as pulling up ahill or accelerating hard my car appears to go onto 3 cylinders. I am guessing this is something to do with the fuel, thus carbs. The back 3 plugs are very black, whilst the front 3 look about right. Runs fine when cold, but as soon as it warms up does this. Also will not idle and difficult to restart, starts on 3 then picks up to 6 after a short time.Any suggestions or any Triumph expert garages in the Bath area that I could take it to?
Davemate Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 back plugs black means back carb is rich weaken the back carb off a bit and then check the plugs (after a drive )and if they are still darker, then weaken the back carb off again until the plugs matchalso check the choke is fully off on the back carb, infact check that first !and check the air filters
