mowerman Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I`ve recently sent my CD150s away to Andrew Turner to be reconditioned, I have used him in the past and found the quality and workmanship top class, however......... I cannot get hold of him!!! Left 2 voice mail messages and his inbox is now so full it wont accept anymore, no other form of contact link of the website so I`ve resorted to snail mail. Does anyone elso know if he`s still around or ill or anything :-/ Has he attended any of the shows (stafford?) recently? As I said at the beginning his work is top quality, it would be a real shame if he`s no longer around :(
Deleted User Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 I'm pretty sure i saw him at stoneleigh ...maybe sunning himself in the caribean
heraldcoupe Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Spoke to him by phone maybe 6 weeks ago, I think he had his usual spot at Stoneleigh.Cheers,Bill.
blueH Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 He was definately at stoneleigh, saw his stand and his wife was in attendance, maybe gone on hols for a few days.Norm
mowerman Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 No message on the answerphone to say he`s away! Strange really, just have to see if snail mail gets a reply.
Deleted User Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I spoke to him the week before last. Funny thing the subject was this forum, turns out AT is addicted to reading it, but never posts.
1971vitesse Posted March 5, 2007 Posted March 5, 2007 well I hope everything is ok and he is only on holiday or something. great genuine guy and does a mean job on rebuilding carbs!cheersDavid
mowerman Posted March 5, 2007 Author Posted March 5, 2007 Had contact with Andrew Turner today, been away on his hols. Should get my carbs back next week sometime ;D
Jason Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 He's a one man band and you often see questions and posts asking "is Amdrew Turner still around?" and of course he is, just not answering emails or the phone :-) I guess he's busy making all those pretty carb sets :-)
spit1500 Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 saw his stand at stoneleigh ....impressive stuff 8)
GT6boy Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Saw him at Stoneleigh. He's done stuff for me in the past. No hesitation in recommending him. Top bloke, very genuine and always polite, irrespective of whether someone is blindly trying to teach him to suck eggs. Geezer at Stoneleigh was telling him his Triumph had fuel vapourisation issues, so could he fit an intercooler to help it run cooler(!) :B Andrew's responce was as always, polite but knowledgeable none-the less. Nicest aspect to his charecter is that he doesn't go-in for running down traders, irrespective of how he himself may have been treated by them, but he is still honest in the information he imparts. A one man(and wife) band. He must be like an octopus in his work shop, i'm not surprised he sometimes is missing in action! :D
a turner carbs Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Hi everyone, this is my first post so please be gentle. I can be difficult to get hold of especially now that I've removed the phone from the workshop. When she's here Carole answers the phone and she is perfectly capable of quoting for jobs, looking up prices for parts etc. Carole also deals with all the post and admin so she's the one to ask if your carbs/ cheque have arrived or been dispatched. We have a Bt answer phone and if you leave a name and number I normally get back within a couple of hours. We try to tell as many customers as possible when we are going on holiday but obviously some get missed - sorry mowerman. By the way we were skiing in France not sunning ourselves in the Caribean !! dave's right I'm on this forum most days and really enjoy it. Andrew
Jason Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Welcome to the Forum Andrew, don't just be a lurker, pile in :-)
GT6boy Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Hey- I remember The Lurkers. " I don't need to tell her" . Top song.
