Herald Door Locking Mechanism

The drivers side door latch has gone floppy, causing real problems when I'm tying to close the door!

Any suggestions?

Do you mean the locking pin in the door is just flopping around in it's arc of movement?  That means that the spring inside had come adrift or broken.  Usually possible to fix it (the spring is a very simple thing) but you'll need to wrestle the mechanism out of the door first which isn't much fun.

One day I'm going to come up with a more modern arrangement, with a two-stage latch, so the door doesn't fly open at inopportune moments.......

Yea, feels like a spring has gone in that movement.

Not looking forward to digging that out then!
