I wonder if you can help, I am experiencing problems with the release of the door catch, most times you need to push the button really hard or push the handle in as well to get the mechanism to click and release, I have tried backing the door of the sealing rubbers slightly so the door sticks out and less pressure on the lock this has made it a little better, can I assume that the spring is at fault ?and are they available separately? not yet had the door card off or inspected but have lubed from the outside
thanks Robbie

There is an adjustment on the back of the button, its a small threaded bolt with a locknut, that goes in/out of the button, is this that bears on the lock mechanism when you push the button. Have you looked at this yet? You may just need to wind it out a bit to take up the slack. It was probably last set when the door was assembled in the factory.

I've had my kids whining for a while about how hard the passenger door lock button is to press and the handle hard to turn. So I greased the square pin that engages with the striker plate mounted on the B post, and it's fine now.

its also very important that the  sliding wedge under the striker plate (I thats the type you have) is working this stops the door lifting and opening on roundabouts etc.  ( not the hasp and staple of TR or convertibles)
the spring is frail and if broken can be tempered in a flame and reformed to fit with some tension.

many get seized and makes hard and bounce  back  closing

hard closures  is often due to wrong section balloon seal being sold not the single flip type as original.
