Alex Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 I'm in the process of rebuilding/repairing a door for my mk1.I need to remove the trims and the glass including the 1/4 light. How do I do this without breaking things? :-/
Barry Acclaim Guru Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 1/4lites are pop rivited at the top under the front door seals. Rear windows can be removed by carfull jiggling the lower corner into the cut out slot, put there for that perpose. Lots of tight nuts will be a small problem, just use a little heat, and remember to lable every screw, nut and washeras there are at least 115 individual components for each door. Lastly, get yourself a box of stainless screws to put back in so the poor chap who has to do it in 40 years time finds it easier to do.b
