ian2000t Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Hi does anybody have a rear nearside door window in non tinted for a 2000 saloon? I'm in Birmingham area so can collect if local. Is needed as some pikey scum decided to smash my parents yesterday! :'(Thanks for any replies :)
ian2000t Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 Hiya! Yeh, Franks old car! Don't know if someone tried to steal it or if some kids have just done it for a laugh! Will be fixed soon as we get a new glass though.. no need to tell Frank! ;)
Fuzzy Harris Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Ian, EFH 125C Im sure ive owned that in the past :)
TriumphMan Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Got one, but I'm in Berkshire - 3 miles from M4 J12. Any good? Could probably get it nearer to you given time - but I guess you may be in a hurry!
ian2000t Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Cheers for the replies! My Dad actually found an old door from our first Triumph which has clear glass, so has fitted that for now. Unfortunately it is scratched and it a "Triplex" window, instead of a "Pilkington" like the old one was.Triumphman, any chance yours is a Pilkington? Would be nice to keep the car original if possible as it's a bit special!Fuzzy, I bought EFH from a guy in Nuneaton around 2004-ish. Has been off the road a few years now though, needs a lot of welding but hopefully one day will see the road again. Here's a pic of it when it was my daily driver (I was 19 at the time - used to get so many strange looks driving it!). http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m144/ian2000t/Triumph%20Pics/DSCN2269.jpgIf you have any more info about it, or history of the car I'd love to know, as I didn't really get much history with the car when I bought it!
TriumphMan Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 No the ones I have are Triplex. Pilkington glass wasn't fitted to UK cars, I think.
TriumphMan Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Although of course any future glass will be Pilkington, because they acquired all the Triplex moulds and stuff.
ian2000t Posted November 3, 2010 Author Posted November 3, 2010 Ahh, ok! This one is an Aussie import, so the Pilkington glass in it is probably a bit rare! Even more thanks to whoever smashed the window then! :(Do you know who sells the "new" Pilkington glass?
CRAJ Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Perhaps the best place to start is with an automotive glass company, any of the windscreen companies should have contacts for this sort of thing.Colin.
Jonny-Jimbo Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I've got a set of untinted with ym Mk2, I'll have a goose to see if they're Pilko's or not.
