Davemate Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I need to replace the pins on the drivers door.Door off or can they be changed with door in place by banging the old pin out with the new pin as it goes in ?Sorry for the sudden asking of lots of questions Quote
Richard B Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 They can be a right sod to get out sometimes. Door off for access. Quote
Davemate Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 Do the pins come upwards or downwards Quote
JimEB Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 From memory (last did one nearly 20 years ago!), they drift out upwards. Come to think of it, if they were fitted from beneath, they'd eventually drop out... ;) Quote
Richard B Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Yep which makes the front bottom one a pig to remove as the sill is in the way.Usually the top one wears/breaks.There are copper/brass washers installed as well and small grooves for oil/grease to be applied in the hinges. ;D Quote
