Anyone got a door lock assy (back of door piece)

Last week I had a problem where my drivers door wouldn't unlock from the outside, locks ok on the inside and opens OK from the outside when unlocked.

I took the door apart today and soon found the problem the rod levery type thing that links the door lock mechanism on the back of the door to the outer door handle had broken off. Fine I thought, I've got one of those in my stash of spares, however when I checked the one I've got is slightly difefrent where it joins to the rod links to the inner door handle so it must be from a round tail GT6 or Spit....

Anyway, searching the Triumph traders today I've found they are damn expensive and not available from many sources...So before I bite the bullet and order a 2nd hand one from Rimmers (Unbelievable I know but they seem to be the cheapest option), does anyone out there have one that they want to sell on the cheap (It's the drivers side RH one). Must be from a MK3 GT6 or MK4/1500 Spitfire. Picture of the offending part and the roddy bit that's broken off below.

Can you get the other bit off the lock and weld or get it welded back together?
Cheers Tony.

Not really, it's broken off just inside and it doesn't look like it comes apart very easily.

Cheers Alex and Colin, I thought a Triumph Hoarder somewhere would probably have one, I was well disappointed to find the one I'd hoarded didn't fit!

I have two sets of doors at the moment, I aim to put the second (good) set on once I get the sill/door closing corrected, but what it means is once I transfer bits over, I might have a few bits lying around.

The only issue is, I probably won't be able to dismantle until this weekend (the issue of working weekdays and only being able to things to my car when there is daylight as my garage has no electricity). If I can get at my car earlier, then I will be able to do this for you sooner, there may be someone else who can sort you out sooner, but the offer is there.

Kind regards,

David

All fixed now, thanks to James (Jimmy 0_0), just shows the merits of going along to the local CT meeting and highlighting bits that you need!
