blueH Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 I am currently re skinning my N/S Door & have noticed the Interior Door Panel is slightly warped, obviously at some time dampness/water has got to the hardboard & it bulges outwards a little, the cover is excellent condition, don't really want to strip & replace the board so was wondering if anyone had come across this problem in the past and have they any tips to offer to alleviate my bulge.Norm
Clive Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Damp it and leave it flat with something heavy on it. It may well flatten. Hopefully.
valencia1 Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 had the clips pop out of mine where it had warped, so used self tappers and painted the heads black. just tempery? you understand ;)

I pointed out that the trim is usually held on with concealed clips, politely, of course. He got quite offended that I dared suggest his car wasn't original. He went off muttering that he was going to consult the experts on the TSSC stand in the next hall. Strangely enough, I knew all of the people on the stand, and I knew that they would immediately refer him back to me for advice......He never did come back though,Cheers,Bill.
herald948 Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 LOVE that story, Bill! Had one or two similar experiences myself in the many years I've been VTR's Herald vehicle consultant. ;)
