2009poolesparky Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I have been thinking about taking the front valence off my mk4 spitfire?will it look any better? what are peoples views?thanksalex
smithy Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Well, it's not original, so if you're looking for originality at the front end, whip it orf. It does look better than the original metal panel though - IMO - which is why I put mine on.Might be wrong though, this looks alright. (I like this car).
2009poolesparky Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 that does look quite nice actually, i like the bullet mirrors too!

Sideways Tim Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I took mine off. Much nicerer without IMHO.Before...After..l
smithy Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Tim - that looks much better. And getting rid of those competing auto club signs and spots was only fair too. Poor car must have been wincing when it caught sight of itself in shop windows..... looked stooooopid!Alex - you're stuttering.
Sideways Tim Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Oh aye. It had a lot of P.O. preference stuff that needed losing. The valance was always a bugbear, but the badges and spots certainly won't be missed. Had to buy new over-riders as the others were full of holes!Plates were a present, I like 'em. Better airflow too :)
jamespworth Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 i have the plastic one but no metal one, would anyone be interested in swapping with me as i cant get hold of the metal one. :-/
aar0sc Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Tim, I'll have them spots! 8)(also, it looks like it was polished lots when you got it and not a lot when you took off the spoiler :P ).
Sideways Tim Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Them spots are long gone. On a mustang I think :)Early morning before shot, late afternoon after. Been for a run in the dusty summer :)

Nick Moore Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Do the front spoilers increase airflow through the radiator? I've bought one for my GT6 rebuild partly because I imagined it would channel more airflow into the radiator rather than under the car.
2009poolesparky Posted March 16, 2012 Author Posted March 16, 2012 removed it today! looks so much better! had to cable tie the numberplate to the grill, gonna have to find out how to fix it on better
Pom Down Under Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 With the spoilerCooling efficiency (I guess): YES Looks department: NO :-/
jamespworth Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 looks good did you have the original valance underneath?
