Anthony Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 The old front crossmember on my chassis had captive nuts for fitting the lower valance and front grille toThe replacement crossmember doesn't have any holes pre drilledThe parts catalogues have all the bolts and washers listed, but don't mention anything about nuts or captive onesSo - how is the lower valance and front grille meant to be fitted?Does the bolts just thread through the chassis, or are nuts meant to be fittedI think I'm going to weld some nuts in place, but just wanted to hear from others first
Anthony Posted March 19, 2012 Author Posted March 19, 2012 Nice - I've never seen those beforeI'm not sure I want the 'lip' that you get on the outer face with the rivinut thoughWhat else should I look at, or should I just weld a nut on the back side of the crossmember?

James1500 Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 You can get countersunk rivnuts, surely a parts supplier can source some captive nuts if you're struggling as I'm sure they're fitted on lots of triumphs?
