I'm thinking of getting a centre section of the rear valance for my 948 S, problem is I can only find the panel in mk2 form, whereas I'm after a mk1 style.

Can anyone point out to me what the differences are, and possibly help me source a mk1 section? GRP is fine, as I'm aware there's a metal piece on eBay currently, but that's sitting at £135. Honeybourne offer the later style for £40, hoping I can find what I'm after for similar money.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

The rear centre valance pressing is common between all cars built after late 1960. Before this they were welded as part of the body structure, once they became bolt-on panels, there were no changes to the design of the pressing.
A metal strip was added for retaining the bumpers on 1200s and 13/60s, but nothing beneath was changed, reproduction panels are supplied with the strip as a seperate part for attachment by the purchaser.

£135 is well above what you'd be paying for a steel panel from a Triumph specialist, shop around.

Cheers,
Bill.
