Mark Hammond Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 New one from TD Fitchett isn't that expensive. The fit is good too.Mark Quote
Goody Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I got a new repo ft valance a few years back. I think I got it from rarebits. It was well made and fit with only some minor filing where the uprights go. The rubber bumper tracks were not attached but, the tracks came if one wanted to weld them on. I think they were very affordable as they were also shipped to the states. Quote

heraldcoupe Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 How early or late in 1962 was it built? Commission number GA80001 marked the start of the Mk2 chassis, which is when the new valance appeared. The currently available valances are the post-1966 style, but they pass for the early Mk2 design once bumpers are fitted. As suggested above, the Mk1 design is a different kettle of fish and quite hard to find in good condition,Cheers,Bill. Quote
Paudman Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I managed to get this one second hand for my 948 coupe, you can see how the shape differs from the later ones. Haven’t seen one since, but if anyone knows where this Herald is now, and has a screwdriver handy… :P Quote
