GrayFox Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Have just been pipped at the post on ebay on a centre rear valance. I have managed to get the two corner valances and now urgently need the middle bit. Having already spent a small fortune on the renovation of the 13/60 convertible I am reluctant to buy a new panel and really hope someone out there has a decent second hand one. Happy to pay a reasonable price plus the postage costs of course.
GrayFox Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Great news from the ebay seller. The winning bidder was in Malta so he has offered it back to us. Problem solved.
Paudman Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Hate it when that happens. Despite putting in my last eBay item selection that I would post to UK and Ireland only, the winning bidders were all over the place, and the extra bother not to mention the extra cost just isn't worth it.
Steve Cureton Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I've recently sold stuff to people all over including USA, France and Denmark. As long as they pay in advance and cover all costs I couldn't care less where it goes, I've still go to wrap it and take it to the post office whatever the destination. I must admit I have been surprised how much some people will pay for postage, but then if they can't buy it locally I suppose they have no option.
Nick Moore Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I agree, Steve. When I need a part not available in Australia then I know it'll cost more to order from the States or UK, so am happy to stump up for the extra postage plus any other costs the seller might not incur if posting domestically. Most people who put 'UK only' on their posting are happy to send it overseas, eBay often has 'UK only' as a default setting. The trick is, of course, to ask Before bidding.
