The front valance on my Herald 13 60 Estate is too far gone to repair and I am tempted to purchase a moulded fibreglass one  - seen advertised for £37.  Has anyone bought one of these?

I don't know how many different manufacturers ther are for these now, but it's years since I've seen one I'd want anywhere near one of my cars. They're invariably moulded so the back edge won't get within an inch of the fornt of the wheelarch.

Cheers,
Bill.

Enough said.  I rather guessed as much.  Has anyone got a good metal one I can buy?  If push comes to shove I can repair the valance but its pretty rough.

better off getting a proper metal one. got one on my herald and when it got transported it was flapping around quite a bit so that will be disappearing before it goes back on the road

Thanks. Typing's getting faster, but I still can't hold a pen or any tools!
Hopefully I'll be OK for Stoneleigh as I've just booked my stand,

Cheers,
Bill.

I've got a fibreglass f/valence on my 13/60 estate, and I can confirm that the back edge does not line up! However, it was only £15 and I'm not too fussy. Bear in mind that the valences are different between the 1200 and the 13/60. I modified the 1200 item to fit.

My Front Valance was original and in perfect condition, up until the point my mum knocked the car off the jack & it got horribly crushed when it landed on the jack! I've had it beaten out, but I'll not decide I fancy a cuppa mid jacking next time!!  :-/

And different again on the Vitesse and 948/1200Mk1.
There are also a multitude of changes throughout production, but those details don't affect interchangeability,

Mine is actually 2 x valances, with one cut (then rotated 180 degrees) then TIG welded to the bottom of the other one.

A little body filler, some primer... some more body filler... lol

Mine is the top left one. The others are me just mucking around with the pics.

I needed the big valance to cover the radiator I had made when I had the Nissan GTR Skyline engine in there :)

Nice work Troy.  It wouldn't do for us because we live off road - not exactly in a field but along an unmade rough track so we need all the ground clearance we can get.

Keep up the good work.

I've got a horrible glass fibre valance on my Vitesse that came with the car. I shall be getting a proper job before it goes back on the road!
