Chrome cleaner/protector

I believe my Spitfire to have chrome bumpers (not Stainless Steel replacement), was wandering if there's any special chrome cleaner that not only cleans the bumper but also leaves a protective layer or something?

Does anyone use anything specific?

Normal car polish should work just fine.

I've used vinegar and what i use the last few time is Autosol Liquid Chrome Cleaner :)

It's just that I've got those little stain circle things that are difficult to get off so I didn't know if normal car shampoo would work. I'll give them a go, cheers

For cleaning, Autosol and scotch-pad. For protection, like Clive suggests, a normal wax based polish should do fine.

Yikes! A fine soft cloth certainly… ordinary car polish works very well. I wouldn’t go near chrome with any kind of abrasive, either the cleaner or the cloth.

ive just done my bumpers yesterday and used autosol first and then simoniz body polish,it just takes elbow power to get good finish,job done and gleaming 8)
