markcro Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 I have both the front and rear strips sitting in a box for the last 6 years! I never got around to or knew how to fit them! So interested in this too! Quote
Richard B Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 On a 2000 Estate which has a similar C section S/S trim. The fitter put; the rubber on the glass, the trim on the rubber, the assembly on the car. Quote
Nick Moore Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 My windscreen fitter fitted the C-section stainless trim to the rubber, then fitted the glass inside the seal, and then fitted the whole lot to the car, top side first and pulling the string through along the bottom. I had to remove the dash crash pad for him to do that. 'Twas a barsteward of a job, and took several visits over several months. I wouldn't be surprised if he is now in therapy. Quote
Paudman Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Quoted from system6 Hi I did post a question about when to fit the chrome strip to my mk3 gt6 , a while back with a mixed responce ...and you’ll STILL get the same mixed response, there’s no hard and fast way of doing it. If you want a definitive answer, get someone to do it and the way he does it will be the right way. Quote
DougBGT6 Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Probably sent you this the last time you asked, can't remember! http://www.triumphspitfire.com/Windshield.htmlThere is a link to a "special tool" near the bottom of the article. Quote
