jollyjohn
[face=Courier][/face]Good Morning All.Be glad of the experts advice!! Warning light stays on - took the switch off and it works. What or how does the cablework the switch please? My Trio -matic just reaching 80000 and going like a bird!! New exhaust, new tyres and a good polish..Wheeeee...Oh by the way I offer the following tip which I proved a few times. Rusted/tight bolts particularly exhaust ones. Warm a little and apply candle wax then heat up nice and hot. May need doing twice. Usually works.Ta in advance.
Barry Acclaim Guru
the wires you are looking for are a blue and a black. my guess is that the wire has been chaffed on the dash chassis and is shorting out.Turn on the ignition and then pull out the blue wire from its conector, and if the light stays on, then the blue wire is at fault, and if the light goes out, then the switch is at fault.hope this helps.b
jollyjohn
Thanks - the switch works ok off the choke but there does not seem to be anything to push it when fitted. ie I can see the cable moving but is there something that touches the switch 'button'?JJ
Barry Acclaim Guru
the switches were intended to be non serviceable items, and are replaced with the choke cable instead. if you have had the thing in bits then maybe a little spring went twang behind your back.b
