Rumpith
Just received a delivery from Rimmers which included a new choke cable. Turns out it's not a "twist-lock" type so it's no better than the one I have. Not a problem, Rimmers are happy to refund as usual. However, I still need to source a locking choke cable, as it's a pain driving around with a clothes peg on the dashboard! Where can I get one? How do others keep their choke out until the engine warms up? (Remember this is a Mk3, so I don't want one of those huge, clunky square plastic jobbies)

JonB67
What about getting a second hand original one and recabling it with push bike brake cables?
Bob Bowling
I replaced the non standard choke on my vitesse with an old triumph heater control knob from a box of junk at stoneligh. Fitted the choke knob that had been sitting in a draw since we scrapped a 12/50 in 1979, and I now have an original looking choke knob that definitely stays where you want it to.The heater knob has a nice screw fitting on it to trap the cable, so the change was easy. neilnaz
Rumpith is it possible to change the square knob on the push/pull (not pull and twist) choke cables? I have not needed to try this as the knob is the right sort for my Spit but they are readily available and don't need the pull twist function, work fine but would just look out of place.Waits to get lots of jokes about pulling twisting (etc) of knobs..............
