Rui Guimaraes
Hello.I am restoring my 1967 GT6 mk1 dashboard and I would like to keep it as closest as possible to the original.I had in the past an original choke cable that was installed in the wrong location by the previous owner but the cable was cutted and is too short to be installed in it's correct place. I have bought a choke cable from Rimmers but it's different from the original (its all in one piece - cable + knob and the knob looks very cheap and does not match the colours of the other knobs).I have the original (but short) choke cable and original (NOS) knobs. Can anyone tell me where can I find an original choke cable or how can I put in a bigger cable to suit the original choke knob.Attached are pictures of the original cable and original knob..ThanksRegardsRui
Paudman
Chic Doig supplied mine, both cable and separate knob; I believe T D Fitchetts have them as well.I still have the e-mail from another supplier who told me there were none left on the entire planet.... :)
GT6Craig
Try stick with an original one. I can almost promise the repro will fail eventually. I had two from Rimmers go on me, and it was a nice easy choke linkage not stiff at all.
