thealligator
Spitfire 1300 Compression RatioWhat is the compression ratio of a Standard UK Spitfire 1300 MK3 FD engine? Some sources say 9 to 1 other say 8:5 to 1As I have just been trying to work out what the compression ratio is on an engine before I have the head skimmed and have come back with a figure of 8.88 to 1Bearing in mind that it is 40+ on the pistons which thinks make theEngine 1370cc. ?I have included the head gasket, the gap from the top of piston, to the top of the blockin my calc’s.The end result is I have come up with a figure of 50 thou to skimmed of the head to achieve a compression ratio of 10 to 1 Would be grateful if some one could confirm my calc’s to right or wrong :PThanks Al
