system6
hi all.... My engine number ends in HE , does this stand for 'high compression engine',... and would it have flat or domed piston tops and whats the differance between then , ...PS still to busy to post photo's of resto work at present but will do very soon ....once again thanks
rotoflex
I think the domed pistons were only used in the last Mk3's, not necessarily for high compression, but as part of the BL scheme to use common parts across the 6 cylinder engines. What is the number on your engine?
BrendanD
The HE applies to all engines of UK spec.Domed pistons came in a KE20000 and above as Triumph started using the 2.5 head to standardise, the pistons needing to be domed to maintain the CR.
