Topic63
Just need to ask, when the windows are closed fully on both driver and passenger doors the glass does not seem to be fully up onto the top seal? The glass on both doors stop at the top of the frame and look in a good position, the door gaps are or seem to be spot on but the top (unframed portion where the glass meets the pillars) catch marking the pillars, they also only sit about half way onto the top seal of the door leaving a gap of about 8 to 10mm. Is there a way of lifting the whole frame and glass up so that the windows close fully onto the seal at the top and not catch the pillars? Chris Bottomley
Hi, unfortunately I can give you much help- the door windows on my GT6 Mk3 have always had exactly the same fit problems that you describe, it has however been through a major restoration/ rebuild so the fit may not be as it was originally. I have been meaning to try and find some other GT6s to see if this is how they all are. I spent a coupe of days playing around with the fit of the quarterlight frames and the rear track for the glass when I put the car back together after a respray. The fit of the glass and frame at the top of the door aperture on mine seems very tight which limits the range of adjustment, it is too easy to end up with either the top rear corner of the glass or the top corner of the quarterlight marking the paint. It would be interesting to know if anyone has got a better fit and how. One of the downsides of adding sound deadening during the rebuild is that now most of the noise inside the car at speed is wind noise resulting from the bad fit of the door windows against the seal at the top🙄
Guppy916
I'm sure that when I fitted mine there is adjustment inside the door, as you can see fully open and fully closed have a look here https://www.canleyclassics.com/?catalogue=triumph-gt6-mkiii&diagram=triumph-gt6-mkiii-door-assembly-glass-and-channels

As above mine was also totally renovated not that long ago so I’ll keep an eye on the next Mk3 I see and compare 🤷♂️
