xebec
Hi,I would be very grateful if you could advise whether the clutch that came out of my GT6 is still serviceable (please see attached photo's) It looks to me as though it has enough meat on it and it could even be the original clutch. It has Laycock stamped on the side. I am wondering if it would be okay to put this back in or whether I would be better off to go for new parts. I obviously do not want to go to waste and excessive expense if it is not necessary.I have now got to the stage whereas I am cleaning the engine ready to mate it up with the gearbox prior to fitting to the chassis. Then it is just a case to wait for the body to come from the body shop to fit that and all the rest.Any thoughts gratefully received. piman
Hello Xebec, I agree, replace it, if you look at the centre plate, the rivet head is barely below the lining surface, it has little life left.Alec
xebec
OK, Thanks for advice. It looks as though a new clutch it is then. Where can I buy a good quality clutch at the moment as if I understand it I need to get hold of a 4 rivet plate. All I have found is either 3 rivet or on the canleys site it (according to the photo) shows a 4 rivet but with 4 springs instead of 6. Any thoughts?
