So dizzy

So after Mabel’s first real run  a few weeks ago, she’s been running like a pig,  cutting out and generally uneven running, Darren and I decided she actually would benefit from a nice new electronic distributor,  but for now,  new points and condenser together with a new dizzy cap would help.  Off came the cap,  in with new points and condenser, new cap and oo and behold  a nice even sounding engine,  then clunk. She stopped,  distributor turned through 90  degrees and smashed the ceramic on plug 3!!   Out came the distributor and took of the top plate,  a washer had fallen from somewhere. Still a mystery,  and jammed the drive shaft.   Removed it and distributor turned freely again 

not called 2 times Mabel for nothing 🙄

Thankyou for the info.  Darren has bought a full electronic kit for Mabel,  dizzy, sport coil, leads, iridium plugs ,  early birthday pressie for me bless him 🤗

The evidence is clear ! A big scrape mark around the inside of the dizzy! …. And the washer fell out !

A good kit from Accuspark, I’ve had it fitted on mine almost 18 months with no issues & so simple to fit, I do however carry a spare pick up & magnet in the boot.

I've had Accuspark fitted to my 13/60 since 2015 and still going strong.

I fitted mine in 2013 I think, it's done RBRR/2x10cr plus other events, never had an issue, unlike the last brand new points+condensor I fitted that lasted about a month.
