Jordon T
I need a new master cylinder for my vitesse mk1, this one seems quite cheap compared to the rest, what are peoples oppinions on it?? Should i buy? is it the right one for my car?http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRIUMPH-VITESSE-UPRATED-CLUTCH-MASTER-CYLINDER-/310276872477?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483df1591d#ht_569wt_905Jordan
Clive
It will fit, but...............the std vitesse (and alll the small chassis cars) had a 0.625 (5/8) cylinder. This is 0.75, so rather larger. It will make the clutch feel a little heavier, and I guess a small possibility of overdoing the clutch release as it will move a bit more if the pedal is fully depressed.TBH it wouldn't worry me in the slightest. I think they are landrover cylinders, can be had from about £10.
Jordon T
Do you think it worth me buying one of these cylinders or paying double for a genuine vitesse mk1 cylinder??Cheers
Gt6s
Apart from the bore size being bigger the reservoir is at a different angle to the proper vitesse item.
Clive
Just buy one! find the cheapest is probably the way to go, but watch it has the correct sized union. I "think" you need the one with the yellow "plug", probably series landrover. Somebody should be able to confirm.
