Driving Miss Brighton!

Hi,When I acquired one and a half years ago my White Triumph 13/60 Convertible it had been sadly neglected since 1995 in the corner of a field slowly rotting away! But back in the late sixties early seventies when she was new according to the previous owner she was used to parade the new Miss Brighton through the streets of Brighton as was the thing in them days! So I was wondering where would one look for archive film footage ! It would be good to see the car being driven, also it’s part of its history.

Best bet for pictures would to be contact the Evening Argus, though I suspect they are not as helpful as thet were 35 years ago when I got copies of photos from them.

As to film, I very much doubt you will find any. All the TV companies have changed a number of times.

Hi Adrian,

for film you could try BFI  https://www.bfi.org.uk/  but probably unlikely.

Or put an advert in the local paper asking for amateur film etc

Or contact your local radio.

Or contact local social groups

Or is there a film/camera club in the south east.

Or contact the organisers of the beauty contests

Or I'm prepared to sit in your car when its finished and you can film me.

Shame it is not Miss New Brighton, British Pathe has film of the 67 and 68 contests.
