kashmir67
Hello, folks has any one installed Valovoline 20/50 VR1 engine with a filter change? If so any benefits or problems? I ask as i'm about to do an oil change. Cheers folks.
Howard
I had used on my Tr7 & was very happy with it. At the time the engine was getting to the point it needed a rebuild and it most certainly helped with the oil pressure when hot.
yorkshire_spam
Vr1 survived pretty well in my Spitfire 1500 with some hard usage. I've since used Penrite and on the recommendation of @Clivemy next oil change will be Millers CSS 20w60. To be honest, VR1/Penrite/Millers will all be great and a cut above average 20w50 for most usage. Tim Bancroft
Classic Oils do a Vr1 equivalent that is cheaper...sadly Classic Oils have tied up with Fuzz Townsend.....oh well. https://www.classic-oils.net/Classic-Oils-Heritage-20W50
Tim Hunt
I have used Classic Oils Heritage 20w50 since its introduction in the 4A. Oil pressure never drops below 70psi at 2,000 rpm however hot the engine gets. Admittedly the oil cooler (with thermostat) may be helping a bit and I change oil and filter every 3k miles. Regards Bruce I wonder why Tim would dislike somebody who took a place on an RBRR with no intention of trying to complete it? 😉 Or maybe Tim, like me, has a low opinion of Fuzz's TV show? Or maybe he's just not a fan of The Wonder Stuff?

Matt306
I liked Fuzz's shows but that Tim bloke I could do without , all the staged 'blagging' or parts its nonsense. I also have a Wonderstuff Album too.
Tim Bancroft
Have no problem with the various bands he has been in, Pop Will Eat Itself, General Public, Bentley RRhythm Ace and The Wonderstuff. Fair play to him, but that Car SOS programme is very naff!
