Pauls GT6
Hi I am new here and currently reconditioning a 1974 Mk 3 GT6 which has been restored in the past including new sills, i noticed that the inner sill does not appear to be attached to the floor pan at the bottom, where it is attached o the outer and floor pan at the top. I am stripping to bare chassis and re assembly so is there anywhere that i can buy a complete nut and bolt set. Regards
drofgum
Paul, The inner sill has the flange which attaches to the floor turned out rather than in, So the welds that hold it to the floor would only be visible from below. Regards, Paul
Clive
Complete nut and bolt sets for eg front suspension, rear etc are available from many of the suppliers. eg https://www.jamespaddock.co.uk/front-suspension-bolt-kit-mk3-
Clive
This sort of explains how it fits together, or should. I have had to replace the floor edges on a few cars over te years, then make a simle right angle repair to weld what is left of the inner sill to the floor, but it is visible to allow me to do so before cutting all the outer sill off.
