Howard
My TR7V8 had the tacho re-calibrated (a small electronic mod) when the engine was changed, but the red line remained at 6500-7000, from its days as the 2L, however the Rover V8 should have a red line at 5500 ! The TR8 Archive (https://www.tr8archive.co.uk/) has a good article on all the necessary changes, but suggested repainting the tacho face which was to high a risk for my liking. Initially I tried home printed transfers, but they were not nearly dark enough, then I found removable adhesive vinyl roll in Hobbycraft which was a good match to the original colour. It was very easy to cut and the attached photo shows the result of my first attempt on an old instrument cluster. Hope this helps someone else. glang
Looks good but perhaps you need one of those rev limiting electronic ignitions as well, just in case....

Nick Jones
You could always mod the engine to match the redline 😛 This much quicker and cost effective though! Good tip.

Gt6s
Who watches the speedo at 160 ? WATCH THE DAM ROAD ! Things happen really fast at 160. Even bends turn into corners. Edited December 30, 2022 by Gt6s
