I then discovered podcasts, and especially, "In Our Time" with Melvyn Bragg. Over a thousand (!!!) progammes, all online and playable on my mobile while I work. And such prograames! If there is anything that satisfies Lord Reith's slogan that the BBC should "entertain inform and educate its listeners, this is it! Expert speakers, and good story tellers.
