runnels86 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 I have bought what I was told was a 67 gt6. But it was no tag on it. I have a body 5471KC. An engine stamp on KC6493E An a title that has KC58841 on it. Quote
Rubce Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) Not a good idea posting all that information together in one place on a public forum! Edited January 30 by Rubce Quote
JohnD Posted January 30 Posted January 30 (edited) runnel's post's wording suggests that they are in North America. Runnel, "The Triumph Experience" Latest Topics Table : The Triumph Experience may offer you more local advice, but after nearly sixty years that a car is a bit 'bitsa' (bitsa this, bitsa that!) is so common as to be usual. I think that in the US "Title" means the same as a UK 'V5', but, runnel, the serial numbers on body, engine and the cars VIN were never the same. That you even have a body number must mean that you have a very well preserved car! The body number was stamped on a metal strip rivetted in the front wheel well, where rain, snow and salt usually rust it away! But the Title number KC58841 is from 1969. Clive Posted January 30 Posted January 30 mk2 GT6 (or GT6+ in the USA) had commission number KC50001 up, and were introduced in 1966. So your document is correct. However, the body and engine number are from an earlier car. Does the chassis have rotoflex? (lower wishbones at the back, or even just the brackets for them) But the obvious answer is the car and "title" do not belong to each other. There are other possibilities, things may have got swapped around over the past 50+ years and so on. Quote
